Student Lifecycle Program

A structured path for onboarding, growing, mentoring, and retaining student builders inside Blockchain Lab at CTU.

Motivation

Strong student labs need more than enthusiasm. They need a clear path for people to enter, grow, contribute, and eventually mentor others. The Student Lifecycle Program defines that path for Blockchain Lab at CTU.

Onboarding

The typical entry point is a practical Web3 development course. Students are introduced to Ethereum, smart contracts, L2s, ZK basics, developer tooling, and applied security thinking. Weekly labs, guest sessions, and mentoring create the foundation for later project work.

An alternative self-onboarding path is also part of the model: students can enter through a checklist and a small accepted contribution when they already have enough background.

Growth path

Students move from onboarding into proof-of-concept work. A good PoC can become a bachelor thesis, a grant proposal, or an MVP. The program encourages students to use hackathons and demo days as forcing functions for shipping.

More experienced students specialize in areas such as smart contract security, protocol design, L2/L3 development, ZK-powered applications, DevOps, client engineering, or full-stack blockchain tooling.

Mentoring model

Senior students are expected to become technical multipliers. They lead application-layer projects, review code, help newcomers adopt production-ready workflows, run internal workshops, and improve documentation and tooling.

This makes the lab less dependent on one person. The goal is a durable pipeline of builders who can teach, review, and ship.

Long-term vision

The lifecycle program aims to make the lab sustainable: more active students, clearer entry rules, paid contribution policies for scoped work, stronger retention, and a larger set of students capable of leading small tasks independently.
